Tyrannosaurus Rex, as a two–piece, had two Top 20 albums (My People were Fair ... , 1968, and Unicorn, 1969), plus one (A Beard of Stars, 1970) that reached No. 21 – and two Top 40 singles (Deborah and One Inch Rock, both in 1968).
After shortening their name and expanding to a four–piece, they became one of the most successful acts of the 1970s, with ten consecutive Top 4 hits (including four No. 1s) from 1970 to 1973.
